Sergeant Major Robert E. Sites
Marine Corps Communication Electronics School
Sergeant Major Sites enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 1985. Sergeant Major Sites graduated as a Private First Class in December 1985. Upon completion of recruit training, he attended his MOS school at the Infantry Training School, Camp Geiger, North Carolina graduating as a 0341 Mortarman.

In March 1986, Sergeant Major Sites was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines where he completed two deployments. He was promoted to Corporal in March 1987.

In February 1989, Sergeant Major Sites was then reassigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines where he was assigned to Weapons Company. In September 1989, Sergeant Major Sites departed on a Western Pacific deployment. He was promoted to Sergeant in November 1989. Sergeant Major Sites deployed to the Persian Gulf in December of 1990 and participated in Operation DESERT SHIELD/ DESERT STORM.

In July 1991, Sergeant Major Sites was reassigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Marine Regiment where he served as Weapons Custodian and Regimental Ordnance Chief.

In March of 1995, Sergeant Major Sites reported for duty to Recruiters School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon graduation, Sergeant Major Sites was assigned to Recruiting Station Portland Oregon, Recruiting Substation Salem Oregon, where he served as a Canvassing Recruiter and Noncommissioned Officer in Charge and was promoted to Staff Sergeant in October 1996.

In March 1998, Sergeant Major Sites transferred and was assigned to the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California.

In May 2001, Sergeant Major Sites was then reassigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division where he was assigned to Company C. Sergeant Major Sites deployed in 2002 and 2003 to the Persian Gulf and participated in Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, SOUTHERN WATCH, and IRAQI FREEDOM, he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in July 2002.

In April 2004, Sergeant Major Sites was reassigned to School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton where he served as a Marine Combat Instructor. In August 2004, Sergeant Major Sites was detached to the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab Detachment, March Air Reserve Base, Riverside, California where he served as Stability and Support Operations Instructor and Instructor Team SNCOIC. In August 2005, Sergeant Major Sites returned to the School of Infantry where he served as the Infantry Training Battalions Curriculum Developer.

On 31 January 2006, Sergeant Major Sites was reassigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion and was assigned to Companies B and E and Headquarters and Service Company. In September 2006, he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. In April 2007, Sergeant Major Sites deployed to Iraq and participated in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 06-08.1.

On 29 January 2009, Sergeant Major Sites was reassigned to the Wounded Warrior Battalion and was assigned as the First Sergeant, Company A. Sergeant Major Sites was promoted to his current rank in December 2009.

In February 2010, Sergeant Major Sites assigned to 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion. In April of 2010, Sergeant Major Sites deployed to Afghanistan and participated in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 10.2.

In August 2011, Sergeant Major Sites was reassigned to Headquarters Battalion, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.

On 9 January 2012 Sergeant Major Sites reported to RS Portland, Oregon where he assumed the duties of RS Sergeant Major until 6 January 2014.

On 11 February 2014 Sergeant Major Sites assumed his present duties as the Sergeant Major of Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon with gold star.
