G-3 manages monitors, directs and coordinates standards-based individual MOS skill and skill progression training and training programs at Formal Learning Centers (FLC) and integrates Training Command staff supporting efforts and synchronization of resources.
Current Operations (COPS) advocates for the FLC and is responsible for individual MOS skill and skill progression training. The COPS Section performs the following functions:
a. Validates training requirements in concert with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the operational forces and FLCs.
b. Develops, implements, monitors and revises individual MOS skill and skill progression training across the Training Continuum.
c. Synchronizes training requirements with resource requirements.
d. Integrates standards-based training across the Training Continuum.
e. Coordinates the planning required to design, resource and implement viable and sustainable training solutions to validated emerging training requirements.
f. Coordinates integration of equipment, doctrine and concepts in support of the Training Continuum.
g. Advocates within the training establishment for each element of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF).
Future Operations (FOPS) conducts analysis of potential training programs in support of training requirements and provides Courses of Action (COA) to the Commanding General for decision. Provides the Commanding General Service-level oversight of plans, policies, and directives associated with training. Maintains the command Organizational Manual, Standard Operating Procedures and current year Campaign Plan. Additionally FOPS is responsible for the Knowledge Management and Information Sharing across the breadth of the command by maintaining the Command Share Point site to include the CG's Common Operating picture (COP).
Production Management (PM) provides production oversight in order to consolidate and submit requirements, coordinate resources, and ensure timely delivery of the appropriate quantity and quality of Marines to the Operating Forces.
Inter-service Training Operations (ITOps) provides the interface and coordination necessary to leverage inter-service training opportunities to meet individual MOS skill and skill progression training requirements. Conducts analysis of potential training programs in support of training requirements and provides Courses of Action (COA) to the Commanding General for decision.
