Sergeant Major David M. Elliott is a native of Newark, Delaware and enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 1997. He completed recruit training aboard MCRD Parris Island with subsequent training and assignment as a Military Policeman. He attained a variety of certifications and additional military occupational specialties throughout his career, to include: Special Reaction Team Member, Martial Arts Instructor, Drill Instructor, Military Police Investigator, Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor, and Assistant Marine Officer Instructor. His selection to First Sergeant in 2010 marked his departure from the Military Police field and led to various assignments and promotion, resulting in his assignment as the Sergeant Major of Training Command. He serves as the principal enlisted advisor to the commander regarding implementation of command policy, enlisted manpower, professional development, discipline, morale and welfare.
