Commanding Officer
Colonel Ryan G. Goulette
Marine Aviation Training Support Group 23

A native of Caribou, Maine, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August 1993 after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management.

After completion of The Basic School, he was transferred to Pensacola, Florida to attend the Aircraft Maintenance Officer School.  His operational force assignments include: Quality Assurance Officer and Assistant Operations Officer of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 29; Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer and Maintenance Material Control Officer of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 263; Operations Officer, Executive Officer, and Commanding Officer of MALS-14; Commanding Officer of MALS-40; Aircraft Maintenance Officer and Assistant Chief of Staff, Aviation Logistics Department at U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia.  He deployed as part of the Aviation Combat Element of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from October 1997 to April 1998; and as the Commanding Officer of MALS-40 to Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) from January to July of 2013.

Colonel Goulette’s supporting establishment assignments include: Aviation-Ground Company Grade Monitor and Joint Officer Matters Officer at Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Quantico, Virginia; Assistant Maintenance Section Head, Aviation Logistics Support Branch, HQMC.

Colonel Goulette is a graduate of both the Amphibious Warfare School and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia, as well as the United States Air Force Air War College Distance Education Program. 

His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with gold star in lieu of fourth award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.
