The function of the Safety Office is to preserve combat readiness and protect command personnel by mitigating risks and eliminating workplace mishaps.  The Safety Office executes a comprehensive occupational safety and health program across all commands, schools, and detachments.  We achieve this by providing high-impact safety education, training, and advisory services, promoting strict regulatory awareness, and conducting rigorous assessments to ensure force preservation.

The Safety Office carries out a wide range of essential duties focused on fostering and maintaining a safe work environment.  Key responsibilities include delivering risk management training materials; conducting inspections and program assessments; overseeing and evaluating high-risk training, explosives handling, hazard communication, traffic safety, LASER, and radiation safety programs.  Additionally, the office also performs hazard analyses and identifies trends during mishap investigations.  It manages mishap reporting and facilitates the Commanding Generals’ Safety Investigation Board (SIB) and mishap endorsement processes, serving as an SIB member when required.  Furthermore, the office interprets safety standards and regulations while supporting the development of new or updated command-level safety policies.  The Safety Office provides analysis during the program of instruction-review process to ensure compliance.  These functions are performed in a matrix support role for both TECOM and TRNGCMD.
