On St. Patrick’s Day, the Marine Corps Engineer School sponsored the Annual Engineer Golf Tournament at Paradise Point Golf Club aboard Camp Lejeune, N. C. Current and past engineers with family and friends honored the patron saint of engineers by building camaraderie within the engineer community. Teams of four competed for the Closest Pin, Longest Drive, Third, Second and First Place Awards.

On March 16th, 2017 MCES held its annual Engineer Field Meet on Ellis Field. The annual field meet is held to celebrate the patron saint of engineers, St. Patrick; as well as build camaraderie, espirit de corps, and compete for the four-leaf clover trophy. For the Engineer Stake Driving Relay, a team of Marines use an engineer stake driver to manually sink a total of four engineer stakes into the ground.

During the Water Hose Relay a team of Marines, broken into two Marine legs; takes turns running a hose approximately 50 meters to a turn-around point and then runs back.

During the Water Bucket Relay a team of Marines take turns running to a water bladder with a bucket, filling the bucket from the bladder, then running back to the start/finish line to deposit the water into a 50 gallon trash bin.

During the Cross Cut Relay a team of Marines take turns running to station with a saw, 4X4 piece of wood, and eye protection; using the saw to cut a section of wood off the main piece, then run back to the start/finish line.
