1stSgt Lawrence S. Hudson First Sergeant, Logistics Operations School

First Sergeant Hudson enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 2000.  After graduating recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California, and attending Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry- West, he later achieved the Military Occupation Skills (MOS) as a 3043, Supply Administration and Operations Specialist, aboard Camp Johnson, North Carolina.   

In May 2001,  First Sergeant Hudson reported to Headquarters and Service Company, Headquarters and Support Battalion, School of Infantry - East, in Jacksonville, North Carolina.  As a Supply clerk, he held billets in all functional areas of supply to include Fiscal, Requisitioning, Property Accounting, Subsistence, Personal Effects, and Warehousing.

First Sergeant Hudson was later promoted to Sergeant in May 2005 and was reassigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Marine Wing Support Group 17, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Iwakuni, Japan.  During this time, First Sergeant Hudson served as the Squadron Fiscal Chief, managed funding for various exercises, and participated in exercise Foal Eagle, Korea.

In June 2007, First Sergeant Hudson received Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina to become a Marine Corps Drill Instructor.  Immediately after completing Drill Instructor school, Sergeant Hudson was ordered to report to Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, where he trained his initial Platoon and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. 

Upon completion of Drill Instructor Duty in Oct 2010, First Sergeant Hudson was ordered to Headquarters and Service Company, 2D Battalion 6th Marines, 2D Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  There he served in the billet of Battalion Supply Chief and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12-1.  In the course of his assigned tour, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and received PCS orders to the 8th Marine Corps District.

 In July 2013, First Sergeant Hudson reported to the 8th Marine Corps District Headquarters, Fort Worth, Texas where he served in the billets of District Supply Chief, Company Gunnery Sergeant, and Equal Opportunity Representative.  There he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, 2d Marine Logistical Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  During this time, he served as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company and Engineer Service Company.  Additionally, he deployed as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Europe-Africa, 18.2

In May of 2019, First Sergeant Hudson received orders and reported to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, North Carolina where he assumed his duties as a Formal School First Sergeant.

First Sergeant Hudson’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (x2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (x3), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (x6), and the Marine Corps Drill Instructor Ribbon.
