Captain Cory Allen studied psychology at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. During his freshman year he was awarded a Platoon Leaders Course contract and attended Officer Candidates School, Juniors, during the summer of 2011. He completed the Seniors course in 2013. In December of 2013 he graduated with a B.A in Psychology and received his commission on February 7th 2014.
Then 2ndLt Allen reported to The Basic School in October of 2014 and received the MOS of 3404 upon graduating. In May 2015, he reported to Regional Disbursing Office-East, Camp Lejeune, NC for on-the-job training prior to reporting to Financial Management School in June.
Upon returning to RDO-E in November, he was assigned as the Officer in Charge of the Separations deck.
In 2016, Capt Allen reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 8 to serve as the Deputy Disbursing Officer for Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response Africa and the Black Sea Rotational Force. As the DDO, Capt Allen was responsible for making cash payments and supervising the Disbursing and Unit Pay Agents located across Europe and Africa. He also oversaw and approved the DTS requirements for the MAGTF.
In 2017, Capt Allen returned to the Disbursing Office to serve as the Defense Travel System Section OIC until August 2018 when he reported to Financial Management School to serve as the Operations Officer.
In addition to performing his assigned duties, Capt Allen has also completed Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program Courses 8661 and 8662.
Capt Allen’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
