Lieutenant Colonel Matthew E. Hall CO, ACTS, MCCES

LtCol Hall was born in Fairfax, Virginia and was raised in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Penn State University in May of 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice.   Commissioned upon graduation via the Platoon Leader’s Course program, LtCol Hall attended the Basic Officer Course at Quantico, Virginia and MOS schools in Twenty-nine Palms California, and El Paso Texas, for Aviation Command and Control and Low Altitude Air Defense respectively. 

Following graduation from MOS schools, LtCol Hall reported to Marine Air Support Squadron – 1 (MASS-1), 2D Marine Aircraft Wing (2D MAW), in Cherry Point, North Carolina.  During this tour he deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and participated in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM followed by Humanitarian Assistance Operations in Liberia in 2003.  Returning to MASS-1 he served as the Assistant Operations Officer until he deployed in 2004 with a detachment supporting the 22nd MEU for OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, in Afghanistan.      

In June of 2005, LtCol Hall reported to The Basic School where he performed duties as a Land Navigation Instructor and Staff Platoon Commander.  Additionally, he served as an Instructor Education Program Coordinator before departing for Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) in July of 2008. 

Upon graduating EWS in July 2009, he reported for duty to MASS-2 in Okinawa, Japan.  He served as a Detachment OIC for exercises and as the Air Support Company Commander, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer.

In July of 2012, LtCol Hall was assigned to the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC) G3 Operations Section in Twentynine Palms, California.  During this tour he coordinated future operations for service, joint, and coalition units participating in Integrated Training Exercises and other MAGTFTC training events.  In addition, he performed as an Individual Augment to the Central Command J5, where he served as the contact Officer for the Senior National Representatives from Belgium, Canada, France, Bosnia, and Croatia. 

In June of 2015, he reported to the MAGTF Staff Training Program (MSTP) in Quantico, Virginia and performed duties as an Air Command and Control Instructor.  In March of 2017, LtCol Hall assumed duties as the Communications and Information Systems Branch Head at MSTP.

LtCol Hall reported to Marine Air Control Group-28, 2D MAW in June of 2018 for duty as the Group Executive Officer.

In June of 2019, LtCol Hall assumed command of Air Control Training Squadron, Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School, in Twentynine Palms, California.      

LtCol Hall obtained certification as a Weapons and Tactics instructor in 2005, and completed non-resident Command and Staff College in 2012.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon. 

LtCol Hall is married and has 3 children.
