First Sergeant Crane enlisted in the Marine Corps and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego in January 2004.  Following graduations from boot camp, Marine Combat Training and occupational specialty school, Private First Class Crane was assigned to 3d Battalion 2d Marines in Camp Lejeune, NC as an administrative clerk and was promoted to Lance Corporal in October 2004.  During his time at the battalion, Lance Corporal Crane deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. In October 2005, Lance Corporal Crane was promoted to Corporal and assigned as a platoon sergeant for a company security team.

 

In April 2007, Corporal Crane was assigned to the Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps.  In January 2008, Corporal Crane was promoted to Sergeant and assumed the responsibilities as the Administrative Chief and Security Manager.  

 

In January 2010, Sergeant Crane was assigned to Marine Corps Forces, Central Command as the Administrative Chief to the Commanding General.  In August 2010, Sergeant Crane graduated from American Military University with a Bachelor or Arts majoring in Political Science.  In September 2010, Sergeant was selected for promotion to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was promoted in July 2011.    

 

In January 2012, Staff Sergeant Crane was assigned to the Camp Lejeune Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC) serving as the Separations and Retirements Chief.  Staff Sergeant served in this role from January 2012 to February 2013.  In February 2013, Staff Sergeant Crane attended the Advanced Administrative Specialist Course.  Upon returning to the IPAC in March 2013, Staff Sergeant Crane served as the Personnel Orders Chief. 

 

In May 2014, Staff Sergeant Crane was assigned as the Travel Chief to the Commandant of the Marine Corps where he would serve for 11 months.  In April 2015, Staff Sergeant was selected to serve as the Executive Assistant for Administration to the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  In June 2015, Staff Sergeant Crane was selected for promotion to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and was promoted in December 2015.

 

In July 2017, Gunnery Sergeant was assigned to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms IPAC and served as the Inbound Chief until April 2018.  From April to June 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Crane attended the resident Advance School and finished as a distinguished graduate.  Upon returning to the IPAC in June 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Crane served as the Marine Corps Communication-Electronic School IPAC Branch Staff Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge.

 

In December 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Crane was selected the rank of First Sergeant and assigned as the Company B, Company First Sergeant.  In May 2019, First Sergeant Crane was assigned to his current position as the Communication Training Battalion Senior Enlisted Advisor.
