U.S. Marines with the Combat Instructor School Class 4-19, School of Infantry - West, sing “The Marines’ Hymn,” during a graduation ceremony on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 12, 2019. The mission of CIS is to develop Marines’ leadership, character, knowledge and fitness to fortify them with skills required to succeed as a combat instructors. CIS is a nine-week course that provides Marines with knowledge of the rules, regulations and procedures to prepare them to lead and instruct entry-level Marines during combat training.
