On March 16th, 2017 MCES held its annual Engineer Field Meet on Ellis Field. The annual field meet is held to celebrate the patron saint of engineers, St. Patrick; as well as build camaraderie, espirit de corps, and compete for the four-leaf clover trophy. After completing thirteen events, 2d Combat Engineer Battalion and 8th Engineer Support Battalion were in a tie for first place. The tie-breaking event was a second running of the Obstacle Course Relay. 8th Engineer Support Battalion won the tie-breaking Obstacle Course and the overall field meet.
