On May 13, 2016 the Marines of Headquarters and Service Company, Marine Corps Engineer School participated in a Change of Command Ceremony in which Captain Zack A. Pinkerton relinquished command to Captain Mark Kand. The change of command ceremony is a formal tradition, symbolizing the continuity of the authority of command. It is a transfer of total responsibility, authority and accountability from one officer to another and is usually conducted before the assembled company of the command.
