Mobility on the battlefield remains one of the hallmarks of Marine engineers therefore adapting to changing environments and conditions is crucial to mission accomplishment. The MCES Maintenance platoon did just that while serving as the labor force for a Mobility Matting Demonstration aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune on 15 April 2015. Deschamps Mat Systems, the Maker of MobiMat, a matting system used by the USMC aviation community for expedient Helicopter Landing Zones (HLZ), provided a demonstration of some new products aimed at mobility in soft terrain.
