On April 5, 2019 a modified Relief and Appointment Ceremony was held in the Courthouse Bay Gym between Sergeant Major Jason E. Haney (outgoing MCES SgtMaj) and Sergeant Major Lance M. Oufnac (incoming MCES SgtMaj).
On April 5, 2019 a modified Relief and Appointment Ceremony was held in the Courthouse Bay Gym between Sergeant Major Jason E. Haney (outgoing MCES SgtMaj) and Sergeant Major Lance M. Oufnac (incoming MCES SgtMaj). SgtMaj Oufnac delivers his remarks to the Marines, civilians, contractors, friends, and family in attendance.
On March 29, 2019 Marines from Utilities Instruction Company (UIC) took some time away from training Marines and participated in a Sergeant led Professional Military Education (PME). The group spent the day at Camp Johnson and visited the Montford Point and Beirut Memorials.
On April 6, 2019 students from Utilities Instruction Company (UIC) volunteered at the 14th Annual Hope for the Warriors Run through Jacksonville, N. C. The run is dedicated to the men and women injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen.  Transportation was provided for the Marines by the Single Marine Program.
On March 14, 2019 Marine Corps Engineer School (MCES) hosted the annual St. Patrick’s Day Engineer Field Meet to pay homage to St. Patrick, the patron saint for engineers; build camaraderie amongst the engineer and utility communities, and compete for the Engineer Field Meet Trophy. Marines competing in the Water Bucket Relay sprinted across Ellis Field with empty buckets to water bladders, filled the buckets, and then sprinted back across Ellis Field in order to be the first team to fill a 55-gallon trash can.
On March 15, 2019 as part of the engineer celebration of St. Patrick, the patron saint for engineers, MCES organized the annual Engineer Golf Tournament at the Paradise Point Golf Course aboard Camp Lejeune, N. C. Marines, civilians, and contractors teamed up in four person teams to build camaraderie and engage in friendly competition. Colonel James H. Bain delivers closing remarks for the golf tournament.
On March 14, 2019 Marine Corps Engineer School (MCES) hosted the annual St. Patrick’s Day Engineer Field Meet to pay homage to St. Patrick, the patron saint for engineers; build camaraderie amongst the engineer and utility communities, and compete for the Engineer Field Meet Trophy. The Blarney Stone Toss is a test of strength and Marines hurl a 40 pound stone to see who can throw it the farthest.
On March 14, 2019 Marine Corps Engineer School (MCES) hosted the annual St. Patrick’s Day Engineer Field Meet to pay homage to St. Patrick, the patron saint for engineers; build camaraderie amongst the engineer and utility communities, and compete for the Engineer Field Meet Trophy. Teams of Marines compete in the Obstacle Course Relay to see who can run all their Marines through the Obstacle Course the fastest.
On March 22, 2019 MCES permanent personnel were given the opportunity to upgrade or renew expired swim qualifications at the Courthouse Bay Training Tank and over sixty Marines took advantage of the opportunity.  All Marines that attempted Basic and Intermediate, passed.
