On March 15, 2018 Marine Corps Engineer School (MCES) hosted the annual St. Patrick’s Day Engineer Field Meet to pay homage to St. Patrick, the patron saint for engineers; build camaraderie amongst the engineer and utility communities, and compete for the Engineer Field Meet Trophy. This year there were five units that competed in Marine, engineer, and utility themed events: MCES, Marine Wing Support Squadron-274 (MWSS-274), Combat Logistics Battalion-2 (CLB-2), 8th Engineer Support Battalion (8th ESB), and 2d Combat Engineer Battalion (2d CEB). Here a team of Marines pull a Backhoe Loader (BHL) approximately 100 meters. The BHL weighs roughly 21,000 pounds.
