The Commanding Officer and Senior Enlisted Advisor of Marine Corps Detachment, Presidio of Monterey present a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal to a distinguished student Sergeant in the attendance of his family. Concurrent with his graduation, he was recognized for his leadership, dedication, and academic achievement while serving as both a student and a Platoon Sergeant.

The Commanding Officer and Senior Enlisted Advisor of Marine Corps Detachment, Presidio of Monterey present a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal to a distinguished student Sergeant in the attendance of his family. On February 13, 2015 the Marines of Marine Corps Detachment, Presidio of Monterey conducted a 6-mile run along the surf on Del Monte Beach. Each major section carried a log of approximately 150 lbs, rotating as necessary for full participation. Pictured here is the front echelon with a panoramic view of the Monterey Peninsula coastline in the background.

Over the President's Day 2015 holiday weekend, a group of Marine Corps Detachment, Presidio of Monterey students organized a trip to scale Mt Whitney in the Sequoia National Park, CA - one of the many national parks and tourist destinations available a short distance from the Presidio of Monterey. Mt Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States.
