Infantry Officers Course (IOC) conducts combined training with Assault Amphibian Unit Leaders (AAUL). As a result, IOC Lieutenants can conduct rehearsals for dismounting the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). At the same time, AAUL shows a defensive staging at a cold position, allowing IOC to occupy their hot position.

Assault Amphibian Unit Leaders (AAUL) Course 1-22 supported Infantry Officer Course (IOC) 1-22 during a live fire Mechanized Assault Course at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms. AAUL/Assault Amphibian Officer supports IOC during their course to learn the capabilities of the Assault Amphibious Vehicle and to build rapport with the commanding Infantry Lieutenants. In the picture, the AAVs are suppressing the enemy with .50 Caliber rifles while the infantry suppresses the target with 60 and 81mm mortar fire.
