Delaware National Guard Members Prepare Alternate Care Site for Non-COVID-19 Patients
Members of the Delaware National Guard and medical staff of Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Christiana Care, and St. Francis Healthcare attend a training exercise at an alternate care site in A.I. duPont Hospital at Wilmington, Delaware, April 7, 2020. The alternate care site, or ACS, is located in the building's gymnasium, which was converted for health care use to reduce the burden on nearby hospitals and medical centers during the coronavirus pandemic. The Wilmington-based ACS, a state-managed facility supported by the federal government, has an initial complement of 38 beds for non-COVID-19 adults with low-acuity conditions.
