Mets Military Appreciation Day
NEW YORK CITY (May 30, 2016) – Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus participates in the Military Appreciation Day event at Citi Field before a New York Mets game as part of Fleet Week New York (FWNY). The event featured a demonstration by the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, a mass enlistment ceremony, live musical performances and topped off with Mabus throwing the first pitch. FWNY, now in its 28th year, is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
