LtCol Dwaine “Jammer” Lamigo is a 1994
graduate of Texas A&M University, with a BS in Engineering Technology -
Electronics. After commissioning, LtCol
Lamigo spent one year working at Applied Materials in the technology industry
in Austin, TX while awaiting orders to The Basic School (TBS), which he
attended in January 1996.
LtCol Lamigo was winged in August 1998
and was selected as a CH-53E pilot. He
completed fleet replacement training at Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 302
at MCAS New River, NC and was subsequently assigned to HMH-466, the “Wolfpack,”
at MCAS Miramar, CA.
From April 1999 to June 2005, LtCol
Lamigo served with the Wolfpack. In July
2000, he deployed to Okinawa, Japan to join HMM-262 (REIN) and the 31st MEU
(SOC). Returning to Okinawa in June 2002,
LtCol Lamigo remained in place for a year due to the start of Operation Iraqi
Freedom (OIF). While deployed, he
conducted regional exercises to include Balikatan and Talon Vision in the
Philippines and Cobra Gold in Thailand. Upon
returning, LtCol Lamigo was selected to attend the Weapons and Tactics Instructor
(WTI) Course and remained with HMH-466 to deploy in support of OIF 2 and the
Marine Corps’ relief of the U.S. Army at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.
During LtCol Lamigo’s six years at the
Wolfpack, his billets included: WTI, DOSS, AOPSO, AAMO, and NATOPS. Additionally, in 2005, LtCol Lamigo executed
CACO duties in support of a fallen 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Marine.
From August 2005 to July 2007, LtCol
Lamigo served with the reserve component at Edwards AFB, CA with HMH-769, the
“Roadhogs,” where he completed both Operations and Maintenance Officer duties. During his tenure he executed multiple Joint Task
Force-North missions with Customs and Border Patrol, USCG, Immigration and
Customs Enforcement, and many other civilian law enforcement agencies. Additionally, during this tour, LtCol Lamigo
graduated from the resident Aviation Maintenance Officer Course in Pensacola,
FL.
From August 2007 to June 2008, LtCol
Lamigo attended resident Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA and earned a
Master’s of Science in Military Studies.
Upon graduation, LtCol Lamigo was selected for Presidential support duty
with Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) in Quantico, VA. While at HMX-1 from July 2008 to 2012 his
billets included Executive Flight Detachment AMO, White House Liaison Officer, and
Logistics Officer. Additionally, he was an
aircraft commander and maintenance check pilot in the VH-3D and VH-60N
Executive Helicopters. In January 2011,
LtCol Lamigo was promoted to his current rank.
In August 2012, LtCol Lamigo joined 4th
MAW headquarters and was assigned the duties in manpower management as the
Assistant Chief of Staff G-1. In 2013, he
was assigned as the Director of Safety and Standardization and the senior
advisor to the G-2. Additionally, LtCol
Lamigo attained the copilot qualification in the UC-35C/D aircraft as an
augment pilot for VMR Belle Chasse, LA and VMR Andrews, MD.
LtCol Lamigo maintains over 3,000
mishap-free flight hours and holds every flight leadership designation in the
CH-53E. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal,
Air Medal with numeral 3 and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold
Star. LtCol Lamigo is authorized to wear the Presidential Service Badge.
