Major Erik N. Schneider

Major Schneider graduated from Cooper City High School in 1998 and Florida International University in August 2003.  In October 2003, he attended Officer Candidates School Officer Candidates Class-184 and commissioned a second lieutenant.  He attended The Basic School with Company B and Infantry Officer Course 04-02 in Quantico, Virginia before attending the Assault Amphibian Officer Course at Assault Amphibian School Battalion, Camp Pendleton to earn his primary military occupational specialty (MOS).

 In January 2005, Second Lieutenant Schneider reported to 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  In March 2005, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 04-06 as a platoon commander with Company B.  In December of 2005, he promoted to First Lieutenant, checked into 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion as part of a Military Transition Team, and deployed in support of OIF 05-07 as an infantry company advisor to the Iraqi Intervention Forces.  In October 2006, he trained with the All-Marine Boxing Team aboard Camp Lejeune while he assumed the duties as Executive Officer of Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion.

 In June 2007, First Lieutenant Schneider was assigned as Operations Officer for Recruiting Station Orlando where he facilitated the procurement of U.S. Marine Corps personnel.  Serving as the quality control officer, he screened and supervised the contracting and shipping missions of all enlisted personnel in central Florida.  In June 2008, he promoted to Captain.

 In April 2010, he attended the U. S. Army Armor School, Maneuver Captains Career Course 10-03 at Fort Knox, Kentucky and completed resident professional military education for his grade. 

 In April 2011, Captain Schneider reported to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California and was assigned as Headquarters & Service Company Commander.  He deployed to the Republic of Georgia and Germany in support of Georgia Deployment Program-International Security Assistance Force.  In October 2011, he volunteered to augment the 1st Marine Division Forward Provincial Police Advisor Team (PPAT) and deployed as PPAT logistics advisor in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12-1, 12-2, and 13-1.  In February of 2013, Captain Schneider resumed command of Headquarters & Service Company.

 In September 2013, Captain Schneider reported to Officer Candidates School where he served as platform instructor and platoon commander.  In June of 2014, he was promoted to his current rank and assigned as Battalion Logistics Officer.  In April of 2015, Major Schneider was awarded an additional MOS of Foreign Security Force Advisor because of his previous experience in advising foreign nation security forces.  In May 2015, he assumed his current billet as training company commander.

 His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of second award), and the Combat Action Ribbon.
