First Sergeant Bryan M. Alfaro

1stSgt Bryan M. Alfaro reported to Recruit Training, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA on October 30th, 1995.  Upon completion of recruit training 1stSgt Alfaro reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT), Infantry Training Battalion West.  Once completing MCT, 1stSgt Alfaro reported to Military Police School, Ft. McClellan Aniston, Alabama where he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and obtained the MOS of 5811.

In June 1996 1stSgt Alfaro transferred to Select Marine Corps Reserve and reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 473, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro, CA where he served as Flight line security.  In August of 1996 1stSgt Alfaro’s unit was moved to MCAS Miramar.  While assigned to MWSS 473 1stSgt Alfaro participated in Operations and training in Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, and 29 Palms. While continuing assignment with MWSS 473 1stSgt Alfaro was promoted up to the Rank of Sergeant and served as a squad leader and patrol supervisor.

In April, 2002 1stSgt Alfaro Augmented to Active Duty and was Assigned to the Provost Marshal’s Office (PMO) MCAS Miramar.  While assigned at PMO, 1stSgt Alfaro served as a squad leader and later as a member to the Special Reaction Team.

In December, 2003 1stSgt Alfaro was transferred to PMO, MCB Camp Pendleton, CA.  While at Assigned to PMO 1stSgt Alfaro served as a squad leader, patrol supervisor and later after being promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in April 2006, as the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in charge (SNCOIC) of the Dispatch and services section.

In October, 2006 1stSgt Alfaro returned to MCRD San Diego for Drill Instructor duty.  While there he served as a Drill Instructor, Experienced Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Series Chief Drill Instructor and a Marine Combat Instructor Water Survival.

In December 2009 1stSgt Alfaro reported again to PMO, MCB Camp Pendleton, CA.  In April, 2010 1stSgt Alfaro Deployed to Afghanistan on an individual augmentation billet as a physical security and force protection SNCIOC. While deployed 1stSgt Alfaro was the only Marine assigned to the Army Corps of Engineers, Afghanistan Engineer District South.  Upon completion of the deployment 1stSgt returned to PMO and served as a Plt Sgt.  In August, 2011 1stSgt Alfaro was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.

In June 2012 1stSgt Alfaro reported to Military Police Instruction Company (MPIC), Marine Corps Detachment Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.  While assigned to MPIC, 1stSgt Alfaro served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant, a Senior Instructor and as an instruction phase Chief.

In April, 2014 1stSgt Alfaro reported to Officer Candidates School, MCB Quantico, VA where he is currently serving as the Company 1stSgt for Charlie Company.  

1stSgt Alfaro’s personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star.
