Master Sergeant, MATSS-1
Master Sergeant Jason D. Bornfleth

Master Sergeant Jason D. Bornfleth enlisted in the Marine Corps in September of 1997.  In September 1997 he reported to Delta Company 1st Recruit Training Battalion San Diego, CA.  Upon completion of recruit training he reported to Hotel Company Marine Combat Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA.  Following combat training he was assigned to Camp Johnson, North Carolina for Administration School where he obtained the MOS of 0151.   

     In March 1998, Lance Corporal Bornfleth received orders to 1st Force Service Support Group (FSSG), 1st Supply Battalion Camp Pendleton, California. There he served as an Administration Clerk for the Battalion.  In December 1998 Lance Corporal Bornfleth received PCA orders to the Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, Las Pulgas, Camp Pendleton, CA.  where he served as the Administration Clerk for the school house.  Lance Corporal Bornfleth was promoted to the rank of Corporal in November 2000.  

     In August 2001, Corporal Bornfleth made a lateral move to the Aviation Supply community, and immediately pinned on Sergeant.  The points he accumulated as a 0151 where enough for him to get promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  Sergeant Bornfleth then reported to Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron-1 Meridian, MS.  Upon graduation, Sergeant Bornfleth received orders to MALS-39, MAG-39 Camp Pendleton, CA. where he worked in the Supply Accounting Division and in the Consumable Management Division.  In January 2003 deployed to Iraq on the SS Curtiss (T-AVB) Aviation Logistics Support Ship, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as the Supply Response Division Chief.  Sergeant Bornfleth was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in March 2005. 

     In June 2005, Staff Sergeant Bornfleth, received orders to MAG-49 Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove, PA. and served as the Fiscal Chief, Collateral Duty as the SACO, and the UVA.  In 2007 he deployed with 426th Air Base Squadron in Trondheim, Norway.

     In July 2008 Staff Sergeant Bornfleth received orders to MALS-13, MAG-13 MCAS Yuma, AZ.  where he served as the Division Chief of Squadron Support Division.  Staff Sergeant Bornfleth was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in August 2009. 

     In October 2011 Gunnery Sergeant Bornfleth received orders to MALS-36, MAG-36 Okinawa, Japan and worked in the Repairable Management Division as the SNCOIC of the Pre Expended Branch (PEB). 

     In November 2012 Gunnery Sergeant Bornfleth received orders back to MALS-13, MAG-13 MCAS Yuma, AZ.  where he served as the Division Chief of Supply Response Division and the Consumable Management Division from 2012-2015.  Gunnery Sergeant Bornfleth was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant in July 2015, and transferred to Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron-1 Meridian, MS. July 2015.

     Master Sergeant Bornfleth’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four gold stars, Armed Forces Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with two stars, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with four stars.
