First Sergeant Joshua L. Clark
Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron 1

First Sergeant Joshua L. Clark enlisted in the Marine Corps in December of 1998.  In January 1999 he reported to Golf Company 2nd Recruit Training Battalion San Diego, CA.  Upon completion of recruit training he reported to Golf Company Marine Combat Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA.  Following combat training he was assigned to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida for Aviation Life Support “A” school where he obtained the MOS of 6048.  Upon graduation, Private First Class Clark, was the honor graduate and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In August 1999, Lance Corporal Clark was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-11 Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA.  There he served as a Work Center Supervisor, Production Controller, and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative.  While at MALS-11, Lance Corporal Clark deployed to Iwakuni, Japan from September 2000 to March 2001 and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from March 2002 to Sept 2002.  Lance Corporal Clark also was meritoriously promoted to Corporal in June 2000 and Sergeant in February 2002.

  In January 2004, Sergeant Clark reported to Drill Instructor School at MCRD San Diego, CA.  Upon graduation, Sergeant Clark received orders to 2nd Battalion, Golf Company, where he served 8 cycles as a green belt Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Day Processing Drill Instructor.  Sergeant Clark was promoted to Staff Sergeant in March 2006.

In April 2007, Staff Sergeant Clark, received orders to MALS-16 Miramar, CA  While at MALS-16, Staff Sergeant Clark served as the Division Chief, Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative, Quality Assurance Representative for 800 Division.  He also deployed to Alsad, Iraq from January 2008 to August 2008 and Bastion, Afghanistan from September 2010 to February 2011 and again from January 2012 to August 2012.  Staff Sergeant Clark was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in October 2010.

In March 2013 Gunnery Sergeant reported for instructor duty at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL where he served as the Aviation Life Support Division Chief, Parachute Riggers Advanced Sewing Machine Repair Course Supervisor, and Parachute Riggers School Instructor.  In March Gunnery Sergeant Clark was promoted to his present rank of First Sergeant and transferred to Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron-1 Meridian, MS.

First Sergeant Clark’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
