Lieutenant Colonel Richard A. Paradise

Lieutenant Colonel Paradise graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1992.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1993 and was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 31 in Beaufort, SC where he served as an Avionics Technician.  After acceptance into the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1995 he attended Officer Candidate School and was subsequently commissioned a Second Lieutenant.

Upon completion of The Basic School in Quantico, VA and Aviation Maintenance Officer School in Pensacola, FL, Second Lieutenant Paradise reported back to MALS-31.  There he served as the Quality Assurance and Airframes Officer.  In September 1998, First Lieutenant Paradise reported to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 where he served as the Maintenance and Material Control Officer and Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer. During his time with the Silver Eagles, he deployed to Iwakuni, Japan in support of the Unit Deployment Program and was promoted to Captain.  In August 2000, Captain Paradise once again reported back to MALS-31 where he served as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer.
 
In March 2001, Captain Paradise reported to Marine Aviation Training Support Group (MATSG) 21 on NAS Pensacola and was assigned to Aviation Maintenance Squadron One.   There he served as the Expeditionary Airfield, Ground Support Equipment, and Aviation Ordnance Schools Officer In Charge (OIC).  In April 2003 after acceptance into the Special Education Program, Captain Paradise was assigned to the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California.  There he earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and following graduation in June 2005, he reported to Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, Virginia.  Promoted to Major in September 2005, Major Paradise served as a Project Officer for the Program Manager Communications.  During this tour, he also deployed to Al Taqaddum in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Systems Command Liaison Officer to 2nd Marine Logistics Group.
 
In July 2008, Major Paradise reported to 2d Marine Aircraft Wing in Cherry Point, NC and served as the Aviation Logistics Division Plans Officer.  The following year he transferred to Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC and reported to MALS-29 where he served as the Executive Officer.  In July 2011, Major Paradise returned to the Gulf Coast and was assigned to the JSF Integrated Training Center on Eglin Air Force Base.  There he served as the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) Detachment OIC and 359th Training Squadron (TRS) Director of Operations.  He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonial in February, 2012 and in May 2012 took command of the 359th TRS.  In November of 2013, he was transferred to CNATT Headquarters on NAS Pensacola where he served as the Operations Officer until assuming his current billet as the MATSG-23 Executive Officer.
