Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joshua L. Creedon was born on February 7, 1990 in Midland, Michigan. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 2007, and attended Recruit Training in July 2008, graduating as a Private First Class meritoriously.
Following Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego, in October 2008 he attended his basic combat training at the School of Infantry West with Fox Company Marine Combat Training Battalion. After graduating the School of Infantry, in November 2008, Chief Warrant Officer Creedon reported to his MOS school at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he served as the class leader. Upon completing the Basic Engineer Operator Course Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was awarded the MOS of 1345 and graduated as the “Gung-Ho” Marine of his class.
Upon graduating MOS school in February 2009, Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was assigned to CLR-37, Landing Support (LS) Company, Engineer Equipment Platoon. When he arrived at LS Company Chief Warrant Officer Creedon assisted in creating the Engineer Equipment Platoon, which was new to the company. While assigned to CLR-37 he volunteered to deploy in support of Balakatan 2009 and Freedom Banner 2010 with the Landing Support Element. In July 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.
Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was promoted to the rank of Corporal in August 2010 and was assigned to CLB-3 in order to deploy in support of OEF. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was assigned to CLB-3, Bravo Company, Engineer Equipment Platoon. He deployed with CLB-3 in September 2010. While deployed he served as a vehicle commander and licensing NCO. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon also attended Corporal’s course aboard Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan while deployed graduating with the highest GPA.
In February 2012 Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to MWSS-373, Engineer Company, Engineer Equipment Platoon. While at MWSS-373 he served in many billets to include assistant operations chief, quality control NCO, and platoon sergeant. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon again deployed to Afghanistan in September 2012 and served as the Operations Chief for the engineer detachment. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon planned, coordinated, and supervised the fortification of the Camp Bastion’s flight line following the September 2012 attacks.
Upon returning Chief Warrant Officer Creedon attended Sergeants Course, and graduated as a Distinguish Graduate. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was also selected as the 2013 Engineer Equipment NCO of the Year by the Marine Corps Engineer Association. He also was selected to complete a multi service ship repair aboard the British Indian Ocean Territory of Diego Garcia in August 2013.
In April 2014 Chief Warrant Officer Creedon attended Drill Instructor School class 3-14, upon completion of Drill Instructor school he was assigned to Company A, First Recruit Training Battalion where he completed four full cycles as a green belt drill instructor, two full cycles as a senior drill instructor, and eleven months at the Field Company, Company Gunnery Sergeant aboard Weapons and Field Training Battalion. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was selected as the best new Drill Instructor for his second cycle. While assigned as a drill instructor he led recruits to two honor platoons. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 2016.
In July 2017 Chief Warrant Officer Creedon reported to 2d Transportation Support Battalion, Support Company, Engineer Equipment platoon and was placed in the Operations Chief billet. Chief Warrant Officer Creedon was selected to Warrant Officer on the FY-19 Enlisted to Warrant Officer board and was appointed on February 1st 2019. After The Basic School Chief Warrant Officer Creedon attended the Engineer Equipment Officers Course at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and graduated number one in his class.
In August 2019 Chief Warrant Officer Creedon reported to 2d Maintenance Battalion and was assigned as a platoon commander for the battalions organic equipment section, which included motor transportation, utilities, and engineer equipment capabilities. After serving as a Platoon Commander for the organics platoon he was transferred to be the Company Executive Officer for Engineer Maintenance Company.
In October 2020 Chief Warrant Officer Creedon reported to the newly formed 2d Landing Support Battalion and was assigned as the platoon commander for Engineer Equipment Platoon. In June 2022 he was tasked to supervise an underperforming motor transportation maintenance platoon.
In July 2023 he reported to Marine Corps Base Hawaii to Combat Logistics Company 33 to serve as the Engineer Ordnance Maintenance Platoon Commander, He was promoted to his current rank on August 1st, 2023.
August 2024 Chief Warrant Officer Creedon reported to Marine Corps Detachment FLW for service in Engineer Equipment Instruction Company where he currently serves.
Chief Warrant Officer Creedon’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
