Gunnery Sergeant Justin L. Morris was born July 19, 1991 in Decatur, Georgia. He grew up in Locust Grove, Georgia where he graduated from Luella High School in May 2010. In January 2011, Recruit Morris reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. Private Morris graduated from MCRD Parris Island on in April 2011 with Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Regiment. He attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry East in May 2011 and was selected as Honor Grad. He then reported to the Marine Corps Detachment Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in June 2011 to attend the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Basic Course. He was promoted to Private First Class in July 2011. He received the MOS 5711 Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Specialist in September 2011.
In September 2011, Private First Class Morris reported to Marine Aircraft Group 31 on Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina for duty as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Specialist. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in March 2012, meritoriously to Corporal in December 2012.
In 2014, Corporal Morris deployed with the Fixed Wing All Weather Squadron 224 for duty as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Specialist to Iwakuni, Japan and Hawaii. He was promoted to Sergeant in June 2014 after winning the Squadron meritorious promotion board.
In April 2015, Sergeant Morris reported to Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, Florida for duty as a Canvassing Recruiter presiding over Indian River County, Florida where he manned his own Permanent Contact Station. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in December 2017.
In April 2018, Staff Sergeant Morris reported to Marine Aircraft Group 14 on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina for duty as the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Staff Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge.
In 2019, Staff Sergeant Morris Deployed with the Command Element of the 26 Marine Expeditionary unit for duty as the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Staff Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge and Incident Commander for the Dismounted Reconnaissance Sets, Kits and Outfits Platoon.
In February 2021, Staff Sergeant Morris reported to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina for duty as the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Joint Warning and Reporting Network Operator. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant January 2022.
In January 2022, Gunnery Sergeant Morris reported to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Instruction Company, Marine Corps Detachment Fort Leonard Wood where he is currently serving as the Company First Sergeant.
Gunnery Sergeant Morris' personnel awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award and various other Service and Campaign medals.
