Commanding Officer, Marine Combat Training Battalion
Lieutenant Colonel Tyler J. Anthony

Lieutenant Colonel Tyler J. Anthony graduated from Virginia Military Institute and was commissioned in May 2008. 

His fleet assignments include: Rifle Platoon Commander and 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander with 3d Battalion, 4th Marines; Company Commander, Company L and Battalion Executive Officer, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines; and Battalion Executive Officer with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.

His supporting establishment assignments include: Warfighting Instructor and Staff Platoon Commander at The Basic School; Warfighting Instructor and Class Advisor at Infantry Officer Course; Marine Expeditionary Unit Staff Planning Instructor at Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific; Military Fellow for United States Agency for International Development (USAID); Senior Watch Officer in the Marine Corps Operations Center; and Plans Chief at Naval Forces Central Command in Bahrain. 

He has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2009 & 2011) and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (2016). 

He is a graduate of The Basic School, Infantry Officer Course, Expeditionary Warfare School (Resident), and USMC Command and Staff (Non-Resident).
