Gunnery Sergeant William M. Moore enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 2005 and reported to Parris Island, SC for recruit training in July 2006. Following graduation, Private Moore attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, NC and then reported to the Motor Vehicle Operator Course in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. In January of 2007 Private First Class Moore graduated as a Motor Vehicle Operator and was ordered to 2nd Tank Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC.
While serving as a motor vehicle operator assigned to 2nd Tank Battalion, Lance Corporal Moore deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. Upon return from Iraq, Corporal Moore reported to the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, NC in May of 2009 where he served as a motor vehicle operator and line noncommissioned officer.
In August of 2011, Corporal Moore reported to 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC and was promoted to Sergeant in November of 2011. While assigned to 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, Sergeant Moore served as the Motor Transportation Platoon Sergeant. In November of 2013 Sergeant Moore reported to Recruiting Station Denver, CO, Recruiting Sub Station Pueblo, CO where he served as a canvassing recruiter and Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge.
Upon completion of recruiting duty in November of 2016, Staff Sergeant Moore reported to 1st Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Raider Regiment, United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command where he served as the Motor Transportation Operations Chief. In 2018, Staff Sergeant Moore deployed to Baghdad, Iraq with the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force.
After returning from Iraq, Staff Sergeant Moore reported to Logistics Operations School as a formal school instructor in October of 2020. While assigned to Logistics Operations School Gunnery Sergeant Moore served as an instructor, Course Manager for the Motor Transportation Staff Noncommissioned Officer Operations Course, company Gunnery Sergeant and LOS First Sergeant.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6).
