Sergeant Major
Sergeant Major C. A. Granados

Sergeant Major Granados enlisted in the Marine Corps on 21 December 1998 and conducted Recruit Training with Company G, 2d
Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California on January 10, 1999. Upon completion of recruit training,
Private First Class Granados attended the School of Infantry (SOI West) Camp Pendleton, California for Military Occupational Skill
(MOS) training as a 0311 Infantry Rifleman. Following graduation, he received orders to Company L, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st
Marine Division, Camp Pendleton California. During his assignment, he served as a platoon radio operator and deployed with
Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 3/1, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). In January 2000, he was promoted to the rank of Lance
Corporal and served as a Team Leader. In January 2002, he was promoted meritoriously to the rank of Corporal and deployed with
the 13th MEU as a Squad Leader. In January 2003, Corporal Granados deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF)
and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.


In March 2004, Sergeant Granados received orders to Marine Combat Instructor Course, Camp Pendleton, California. After attaining
the MOS 0913 Combat Instructor, he was assigned to Company C, Infantry Training Battalion (ITB). Sergeant Granados served eight
cycles, training entry level students on basic rifleman skills. In 2005, Sergeant Granados was promoted meritoriously to the rank of
Staff Sergeant and served as a Platoon Commander for Company C. In January 2006, SSgt Granados reported to Advanced Infantry
Training Battalion (AITB) where he served as an Infantry Squad Leaders Course instructor.


In May of 2007, Staff Sergeant Granados received orders to Company C, 1st Battalion 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division to serve as a
Rifle Platoon Sergeant. Staff Sergeant Granados deployed with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) from November 2007 to
June 2008. During the deployment, he served as a Corporals Course instructor aboard the USS Tarawa. On April 2009, Staff Sergeant
Granados was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, was assigned as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Company C, and
deployed to the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. He participated in Operation KHANJARI “Strike of the Sword” from March to
December 2009 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF).


In May 2010, Gunnery Sergeant Granados received orders to Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) Twentynine
Palms, California to serve as a Company Faculty Advisor. During his tour, he evaluated Company and Battalion level Combat
Operations Center watch floors in support of Tactical MAGTF Integration Courses (TMIC), SPARTAN RESOLVE, and SPARTAN
ADVANCE. In October 2011, Gunnery Sergeant Granados held the billet of SPARTAN RESOLVE SNCOIC. On May 2013, Gunnery
Sergeant Granados executed orders to 2d Battalion, 5th Marines 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California. He was assigned as
the Company Gunnery Sergeant with Vertical Assault Company G and deployed with the 31st MEU to Okinawa, Japan. In June 2014,
Gunnery Sergeant Granados was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and became the Company First Sergeant for Company G.
In February 2015, First Sergeant Granados reported to Edson Range, Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton,
California where he was assigned to Range Company. In March of 2016 he was reassigned to Field Company. In 2016, 1stSgt
Granados received a bachelor's degree in Social and Criminal Justice from Ashford University. In January 2017, 1stSgt Granados
received orders to United States Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was assigned as the Company First
Sergeant, Logistics Company, 3d Marine Raider Support Battalion.


In November 2017, 1stSgt Granados was selected to rank of Sergeant Major and reported to 2d Transportation Support Battalion,
Combat Logistics Regiment- 2, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in March 2018. On October 2, 2018, Sergeant Major Granados received
orders to Combat Logistics Battalion-24. In April 2019, SgtMaj Granados deployed to Europe with Combat Logistics Battalion-24.
During his assignment, he conducted multiple field operations in preparation for the Special Purpose MAGTF 19.2, Maritime Rotation
Force Europe-Norway and bilateral training with NATO forces across the European and African region. In May 2020, Sergeant Major
Granados received orders to Twentynine Palms, California to serve as the Sergeant Major of 3d Battalion, 11th Marines. During his
assignment, he conducted multiple field operations supporting deployable forces in support of Unit Deployment Program (UDP) and
global force requirements in the western pacific. In July 2022, Sergeant Major Granados received orders to to serve as the Assault
Amphibian School Sergeant Major.


Sergeant Major Granados' personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award, the Navy &
Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 3 gold stars in lieu of 4th award, and the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1
gold star in lieu of 2nd award.
