Master Gunnery Sergeant Schuchhardt is a native of Orange Park, Florida.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 1994 and conducted Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina.  Upon completion and promotion to Private First Class, he attended Marine Combat Training and the Combat Engineer Basic Course.  In May 1995 he reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372 (MWSS-372) MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina, where he served as a Combat Engineer.  During his tour, he deployed to Haiti and El Salvador and was promoted to Lance Corporal, Corporal, and Sergeant.

In December 1998, Sergeant Schuchhardt conducted a lateral move and reported to NAVSCOLEOD, Eglin AFB, Niceville, Florida and earned the MOS 2336.  Upon graduation, he was assigned to EOD PLT, 7th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB), Camp Pendleton, California.  During this tour he would be assigned to MEU Service Support Group 13 and deploy with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit for WESTPAC. While deployed in the Red Sea he participated in Operation DETERMINED RESPONSE Aden, Yemen in response to the bombing of the USS Cole in Aden Harbor.

 In March 2001 Sergeant Schuchhardt returned stateside and reported back to 7th ESB where he would be promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2002. In September of 2002 he was assigned to 386th Engineer Support Group Detachment and deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Upon return he was reassigned to Combat Service Support Battalion 10 (CSSB-10) and deployed to Iraqi in March of 2003 for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. During this deployment he was attached to 5th Battalion 11th Marines and then 1st Battalion 4th Marines. After returning to 7th ESB in September of 2003 he would redeploy to Iraq with CSSB-1 in March of 2004 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. During this deployment he would be attached to 3rd Battalion 7th Marines.  

In September of 2004 Staff Sergeant Schuchhardt was given orders to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Arizona. In March of 2006 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and attended the Advanced SNCO Career Course where he graduated as Honor Graduate. Towards the end of this tour he would assume the billet of SNCOIC.

In September 2008, he was reassigned to MWSS-372 Camp Pendleton, California as the EOD Section SNCOIC. During this tour he deployed to the Helmand Province of Afghanistan as part of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. During this deployment he was attached to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and 1st Battalion 3rd Marines. In November of 2009 he was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant.

In March of 2011, Master Sergeant Schuchhardt was assigned to Marine Corps Communications Electronics School MCAGTF-TC 29 Palms, California for the purpose of standing up the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Advanced Training Center.  During this tour Master Sergeant Schuchhardt assisted in the creation of the EOD Supervisors Course, EOD Managers Course, and the EOD Officers Course.

In June 2014, Master Sergeant Schuchhardt was assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Forces (I MEF) Command Element (CE) Camp Pendleton, California, as the EOD Planner and was promoted to Master Gunnery Sergeant November of 2014.

In June 2015, Master Gunnery Sergeant Schuchhardt was again assigned to 7th ESB Camp Pendleton, California to assume the duties of the EOD Company EOD Chief.

In July 2017, Master Gunnery Sergeant Schuchhardt was assigned orders to 9th ESB Camp Butler, Okinawa Japan and assumed duties as the EOD Company Chief.

In November 2019, Master Gunnery Sergeant Schuchhardt was reassigned to III MEF CE as the EOD Planner. During this tour he also assumed the duties of the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Joint COVID Response Center and Task Force Safeguard

In July 2021, Master Gunnery Sergeant Schuchhardt assumed his present duties as the Senior Enlisted Advisor of the MARDET NAVSCOLEOD Eglin AFB, Niceville Florida.      

Master Gunnery Sergeant Schuchhardt’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (fifth award) with Valor Device, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award), and the Combat Action Ribbon (second award).
