Logistics Operations School First Sergeant
First Sergeant Neill A. Sevelius
Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
First Sergeant Sevelius attended recruit training at 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. Upon completion of recruit training in January of 2004, Pfc. Sevelius attended Marine Combat Training, School of Infantry East, at Camp Geiger. He then attended Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland where he was assigned the military occupational specialty 4671, Combat Videographer. He was promoted to Lance Corporal meritoriously at DINFOS.

Lance Corporal Sevelius was then assigned to 2d Marine Division Combat Camera in July of 2004 where he completed two year-long deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was promoted to Corporal combat meritoriously in 2006, then to Sergeant in 2008.

After his deployment he moved to Hawaii as a forensic photographer for Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) at Hickam Air Force Base where he deployed to the majority of Southeast Asia, recovering the remains of lost Service members as a result of our nation's previous conflicts. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in March of 2011 and then transferred to 2nd Marine Division and was assigned the duties of supply chief, operations chief, and production chief.

Staff Sergeant Sevelius deployed with II Marine Expeditionary Force to Helmand province, Afghanistan and assumed the responsibilities as the Officer in Charge of Regional Command (Southwest) Combat Camera. He was then assigned to Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in December of 2015.

Gunnery Sergeant Sevelius was then assigned to 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and then later to Moron, Spain and Sigonella, Italy in support of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa 18.1 where he served as the headquarters commandant, career planner, communications and strategy operations chief and uniformed victim advocate.

Gunnery Sergeant Sevelius served as a faculty advisor at the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Quantico, Virginia in March of 2018, attended Advanced School and graduated in June as the honor graduate. He was selected to First Sergeant in December of 2018 and attended the First Sergeant's Course in March of 2019.

In February of 2019, First Sergeant Sevelius received orders to Company B, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division in Frederick, Maryland where served as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant. In May of 2022 he transferred to his current assignment.

First Sergeant Sevelius currently serves as the Logistics Operations School First Sergeant, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, North Carolina.

First Sergeant Sevelius' personal awards include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Combat “V,” in lieu of fourth award), and Combat Action Ribbon.
