Biography
First Sergeant, Ground Supply School
First Sergeant Matthew G. Fraley
Camp Lejeune, North Carolina

First Sergeant Fraley in Ypsilanti, MI.  He enlisted in October 2003 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruiting Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. 

After graduating the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, NC, in 2004, meritoriously promoted Private First Class Fraley reported to Aviation Structural Mechanic School in Pensacola, FL.  After graduating at the top of his class PFC Fraley was again meritoriously promoted to lance corporal and reported to MCAS New River for V-22 Airframes Course.  Lance Corporal Fraley reported to VMMT-204 in September of 2004.

In April 2005, Corporal Fraley was assigned to phase crew where he served as the Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge.

On November 2nd, 2005, Corporal Fraley was meritoriously promoted to sergeant.  In October of 2006, Sergeant Fraley reported to VMM-162 where he continued to serve as a CDI and as the hazardous material supervisor.  Throughout 2007, Sergeant Fraley completed Combat Marksmanship Coaches Course and earned the qualification of Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR). 

In March 2008, Sergeant Fraley deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as an airframe CDQAR, hazardous material NCOIC and an MV-22 Aerial Observer.  Shortly after deployment, he reported to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) at MCAS New River in January 2009 as an airframes instructor. 

Sergeant Fraley was again promoted in February 2009. While at CNATT, Staff Sergeant Fraley earned numerous qualifications and recognitions such as Instructor Evaluator, Master Training Specialist and Instructor of the Year. 

In August 2011, SSgt Fraley was assigned to VMM-261 where he served as the Airframes Division Chief.  He then deployed with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from March to December 2012.  In October 2013, Staff Sergeant Fraley was moved to the Quality Assurance Division.  He then deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in February 2014. 

In March 2015, Staff Sergeant Fraley received orders as a Faculty Advisor to the Staff Noncommissioned Officers Academy, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While at the academy, now Gunnery Sergeant Fraley, served in many billets as a Sergeants and Advanced School Instructor. During his tenure, he earned multiple recognitions such as, Senior Faculty Advisor and instructor of the quarter on two occasions.

In April 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Fraley checked into VMM-263 and deployed in support of the SPMAGTF CR-AF 18.2 as the Maintenance Control SNCOIC.

Gunnery Sergeant Fraley was then selected to first sergeant, received orders to V23, and was frocked. He checked into Echo Company, 2/3 in March 2019. In September, he was promoted and then deployed in November to the INDOPACIFIC AOR in support of FMF - Japan.

In April 2021, First Sergeant Fraley reported to Combat Logistics Company B, Combat Logistics Battalion 3 (CLB 3) , where he served as the company first sergeant and oversaw the transition of CLB 3 to the first ever Littoral Logistics Battalion. In May 2022, First Sergeant Fraley was once again reassigned and reported to the Ground Supply School where he is currently serving as the school’s first sergeant.  

His personal decorations include the Air Medal (numeral 2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6th award), Outstanding Military Volunteer Service Medal and Combat Aircrew Wings with 3 silver stars.
