First Sergeant, Headquarters & Service Company
First Sergeant Brody V. Goldthwaite

First Sergeant Goldthwaite is currently serving as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service
Company A, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Training Command in Camp Johnson, North
Carolina.
First Sergeant Goldthwaite  enlisted on 14 January 2003,
reporting to Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego, California where he was meritoriously promoted to the rank
of Private First Class. Upon graduation, he reported to Marine Combat Training, Camp Pendleton, California.
From there, First Sergeant Goldthwaite attended the Signals Intelligence System Administration Course at Corry
Station, Pensacola, Florida where he received the MOS 2651, Signal Intelligence Communicator.
In September 2003, First Sergeant Goldthwaite reported to the 5th Special Security Communications Team, 2d
Marine Division G-2, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and
in June 2004 to the rank of Corporal. First Sergeant Goldthwaite deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq in support of OIF
3-1/04-06 in January 2005. In May 2006, First Sergeant Goldthwaite was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In October 2006, First Sergeant Goldthwaite received orders to 1st Intelligence Battalion Camp Pendleton,
California where he deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq in support of OIF 06-08.
In April 2008, First Sergeant Goldthwaite received orders to Drill Instructor School Marine Corps Recruit Depot,
San Diego, California. After Drill Instructor School, First Sergeant Goldthwaite was assigned to Company K,
3rd Battalion. In April 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In January of 2011, First Sergeant
Goldthwaite served as the Receiving Company Night's Chief Drill Instructor, Support Battalion.
In February of 2012, First Sergeant Goldthwaite reported to I Marine Expeditionary Force G-2, Camp Pendleton,
California and served as the G-2 Systems Chief where he deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan in support
of Operation Enduring Freedom. In January 2014, First Sergeant Goldthwaite was promoted to the rank of
Gunnery Sergeant.
In April of 2015, First Sergeant Goldthwaite reported to the University of Kansas as the Assistant Marine Officer
Instructor. During which time First Sergeant Goldthwaite also went to Officer Candidate School to serve as a
Sergeant Instructor and Platoon Sergeant. In May 2017, he Goldthwaite was promoted to his current rank of
First Sergeant and served as Officer Candidate School Lima Company First Sergeant.
In September of 2017, First Sergeant Goldthwaite reported to 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment and served as
the Company First Sergeant for Fox Company where he deployed to Okinawa on the Unit Deployment Program
18.2. In January of 2019, First Sergeant Goldthwaite was moved to his current position as the Company First
Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company where he deployed in December of 2019 with the Battalion
Landing Team 2/8 on the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
In October of 2020, First Sergeant Goldthwaite served as the Company First Sergeant of Company A, 2d Assault
Amphibian Battalion where he serviced within Task Force Pickett's Operations Allies Welcome at Fort Pickett,
Virgina.
In November of 2021, First Sergeant Goldthwaite reported to his current position as Company First Sergeant of
Headquarters and Service Company, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools.
First Sergeant Goldthwaite's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation
Medal with 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold
star in lieu of 2nd award, and various other Service and Campaign medals.
