Sergeant Major Bobby D. Frazier joined the Marine Corps in October of 1993 and attended recruit training aboard Parris Island. After completion of recruit training, Marine Combat Training and Field Artillery Cannoneer School he reported for duty with Battery I (3/12) 5th Battalion, 10th Marines (5/10). During his tour with Battery I, he participated in Operation ABLE MANNER/ABLE VIGIL, deployed twice to Okinawa, Japan in support of the Unit Deployment Program and was promoted to Sergeant while serving successfully as a Howitzer Section Chief.
In January of 1998, Sergeant Frazier transferred to The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia. He was assigned to the Artillery Demonstration Unit (ADU), Combat Instructor Company, Support Battalion and served as a Howitzer Section Chief and NCOIC of the Cannon Salute Section. After serving with ADU, Sergeant Frazier was selected to serve as the Chief Instructor and eventually Director of The Basic School's Corporals Leadership Course.
Following promotion to Staff Sergeant in May of 2000, Staff Sergeant Frazier was transferred to Parris Island in January of 2001. After completing Drill Instructor School he was assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Series Gunnery Sergeant. During his tour aboard Parris Island he also served with Support Battalion as a Martial Arts Instructor Trainer.
In June of 2004, Staff Sergeant Frazier was transferred, to Battery I (3/12) 5/10 where he served as a Platoon Sergeant and Battery Gunnery Sergeant. While assigned to Battery I he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in July of 2006, deployed to Okinawa, Japan and to Camp Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Gunnery Sergeant Frazier was transfer to the Marine Artillery Detachment Fort Sill, Oklahoma in June 2007 where he served as the Academics Chief for the Marine Corps Cannoneer School and as Battery Gunnery Sergeant.
First Sergeant Frazier reported for duty with 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, 2d Marine Division in May of 2010. During this tour he served with Company B, Company C and Engineer Support Company deploying twice in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in the Helmand and Nimruz Provinces of Afghanistan. In July of 2013 he reported for duty with 1st Battalion, 25th Marines and was assigned to the Inspector Instructor Staff Buffalo, New York. During this tour he served as the Inspector Instructor First Sergeant for Company C.
Sergeant Major Frazier reported for duty as the Battalion Sergeant Major of 1st Battalion, 2d Marines in February 2015 where he deployed to Japan and Korea in support of the Unit Deployment Program.
On 22 August 2016 Sergeant Major Frazier transferred to the School of Infantry East to serve as the Headquarters and Support Battalion Sergeant Major.
From September of 2018 to December of 2020 Sergeant Major Frazier served with Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations-East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
In January of 2021 Sergeant Major Frazier was transferred to his current position as the Sergeant Major for the Marine Corps Engineer School, Training Command, Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune.
Sergeant Major Frazier earned a Bachelor of Science from Park University in Business Management graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2014. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5th Award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd Award) and the Combat Action Ribbon.
