First Sergeant Nicholas J. Brundige, a native of Sturgis, Michigan, enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of 2005 and currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson NC.

First Sergeant Brundige started his career in 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and climbed through the billets of an 0311 Infantryman, Light Armored Vehicle Driver, Light Armored Vehicle Commander, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander, and Company First Sergeant (acting).

In 2016 First Sergeant moved to the Marine Barracks in Washington DC to hold the billet of United State Marine Corps Funeral Director Conducting more than 1900 funerals consisting of past commandants, 4-star generals, congress members, Medal of Honor recipients, famous actors, and countless active and retired Marines in his three-plus years assigned to the barracks as a Funeral Director for the Marine Corps.

He has conducted numerous deployments by way of 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in 2006-2009, the 24 Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2015, and a Joint Deployment with Marine Special Operations Command, Marine Special Operation Company Charlie in the winter/summer of 2021-2022.

First Sergeant Brundige has a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership studies from the University of Charleston West Virginia, A Bachelor of Science in Integrated Leadership Studies from the University of Central Michigan and is a graduate from the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy.

First Sergeant is a veteran of the Iraq War, and Operation Inherent Resolve. His personal military decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal with “C” device and gold star in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal, Combat Action Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal with Silver star in lieu of 6th award and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
