Colonel William C. Hendricks IV
Marine Aviation Training Support Group 21

Colonel William C. Hendricks IV’s last duty assignment was serving as the Liaison Officer to the Japanese Self Defense Force, Marine Forces Pacific.  In July 2020 Col Hendricks assumed the duties of his current assignment as the Commanding Officer of Marine Aviation Training Support Group 21 (MATSG-21), onboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Pensacola, FL.  He is a native of McLean, Virginia and graduated from Emory University in May 1996.  He was commissioned in September 1996.  He has attended The Basic School, the Infantry Officer Course, Naval Command and Staff College (graduating with Distinction), Defense Language Institute (Japanese), and the National Institute for Defense Studies in Tokyo.  He is also a graduate of Flight School, Amphibious Warfare School (Non-resident), Tactical Air Control Party School, and the AH-1W Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course.

His service in the Operating Forces includes: HMLA-267, MAG-39; HMM-265, 31st MEU; HMM-161, 15th MEU; Air Officer/H&S Company Commander, 3rd Battalion/4th Marines; Deputy Operations Officer MAG-29; Operations Officer/Executive Officer HMLA-269, MAG-29; Commanding Officer HMLA-269, MAG-29; Executive Officer, MAG-29. 

His service outside the Operating Forces includes serving as an AH-1W and Air Officer Instructor at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1, Unmanned Aircraft Requirements Officer, HQMC AVN; Aide de Camp for the Deputy Commandant for Marine Aviation; Air to Ground Weapon Requirements Officer, HQMC AVN.

Colonel Hendricks’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (Gold Star in lieu of second award), Air Medal (with numeral 3), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of 4th award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Gold Star in lieu of 2nd award) and the Combat Action Ribbon.
