LtCol Adam C. McCully
Biography
LtCol Adam C. McCully is a native of New York and was born on 29 August 1976. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University in May 1999 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology. His Marine Corps experience began when he attended Officer Candidate School and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 10 August 2000. In September 2000, LtCol McCully reported to The Basic School, Fox Company and graduated in March 2001. He subsequently attended the Infantry Officer Course at Quantico, Virginia.
In July 2001, LtCol McCully checked into 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, in Camp Pendleton, CA. In February 2003, he deployed with a Rifle Platoon Commander in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Upon returning from OIF, he served as the Company Executive Officer for Alpha Company and deployed in support of OIF 2 and participated in Operation Vigilant Resolve in Fallujah, Iraq.
In December of 2004, LtCol McCully executed orders to Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion in Norfolk, VA. Throughout this assignment he served a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST) Platoon Commander with 3D FAST Co, Operations Officer, and VBSS Project Officer at MCSF Training Company. During his service at MCSF Bn LtCol McCully deployed in support of GWOT and FAST Deployment Program as 7th Fleet’s FAST Platoon.
In Sept 2008, upon completion of the US Army Maneuver Captains Career Course, LtCol McCully was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. He served as Company Commander, Company C “Suicide Charley” and deployed in support of OIF in Fallujah. Upon returning from deployment LtCol McCully became the Operations Officer and subsequently the BLT Operations Officer for the 31st MEU’s Fall Patrol 2010.
In May 2011 LtCol McCully was transferred to Tactical Training Exercise Control Group (TTECG) and assigned to Infantry Training Team East. He served as an Instructor/Controller (“Coyote”) for 24 Enhanced Mojave Viper, Integrated Training Exercises, Steel Knight, and additional exercises.
In June 2014 LtCol McCully checked into 1st Battalion, 4th Marines in Camp Pendleton, CA. He was assigned as the Battalion Executive Officer and deployed in support of Marine Rotational Force Darwin (MRF-D).
In May 2016, LtCol McCully checked into Advanced Infantry Battalion, School of Infantry West in Camp Pendleton, CA. He was assigned as the Battalion Executive Officer.
In June 2017, LtCol McCully executed orders to Manpower Management Enlisted Assignments (MMEA) aboard Quantico, Virginia. He assumed the duties as Section Head of MMEA-1. In May 2018, he transferred to his current assignment as the MMEA-2 Section Head of Enlisted Monitors. LtCol McCully was promoted to his current rank on 01 July 2017.
