Biography
Sergeant Major, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools
Sergeant Major Donald S. Wood
Sergeant Major Wood entered the Marine Corps in January 1992.  After graduating recruit training, attended MCT/SOI at Camp Geiger, North Carolina and later Military Occupation Skills Training (MOS) School at Lackland, AFB in San Antonio, TX and received training as a 5811, Military Policeman and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. 
Sergeant Major Wood received orders to Marine Corps Base Arlington, Virginia. In the fall of 1994, Sergeant Major Wood then received orders to MP Company, 3rd FSSG, Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan.  While in Japan, he was promoted to Corporal and deployed to Korea for Combined Arms exercise Freedom Banner-95, after serving with MP Company for a year.
Sergeant Major Wood received orders to PMO, MCAS, Cherry Point, North Carolina while serving at PMO MCAS Cherry Point was promoted to Sergeant.  Upon receiving orders to MCRD Parris Island was promoted to Staff Sergeant and served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Series Gunnery Sergeant with L Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion until the summer of 2003. 
Sergeant Major Wood then reported to MCB Camp Lejeune, NC and was assigned as the Kennel Master for the Base K-9 Unit.  While at Camp Lejeune was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and assigned to MP Bn, 2d MLG and served as a Platoon Sergeant with Alpha Company until the Battalion disbanded in the fall of 2005.  
Sergeant Major Wood was then assigned to Security Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 2 as the Company First Sergeant and deployed to Iraq in the summer of 2007.  In the spring of 2008, received orders to the Marine Corps Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, Camp Lejeune, NC. and served as an Instructor at the Sergeants, Career, and Advance Courses. 
In March of 2009, Sergeant Major Wood was promoted to First Sergeant and received orders to I&I Minneapolis, MN to serve as the Site First Sergeant for Marine Wing Support Squadron 471.  After serving on I&I duty, Sergeant Major Wood received orders to report to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as the Headquarters and Service Company, Company First Sergeant.  While with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines conducted Unit Deployment Program (UDP) with the command.   
In December 2013, Sergeant Major Wood was selected to his current rank and in May 2014, executed orders to I&I Site Support Sergeant Major, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, Seal Beach, California. In December of 2016, Sergeant Major Wood received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, to serve as the Battalion Sergeant Major. While with CLB-2 deployed to Norway for exercise Trident Juncture 18 in support of 2d Marine Division.
In November of 2018, Sergeant Major Wood received orders to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, NC where in May of 2019 took his Post as Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Wood’s personal awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Medal x3, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal x2, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal x4.
