First Sergeant, H & S Company
1stSgt Christopher Barrera

First Sergeant Barrera serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commanding Officer of Personal Administration School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools aboard Camp Johnson, N.C. 

Christopher Barrera graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. in January of 2000.  After Recruit Training, Private First Class Barrera attended Marine Combat Training and Military Police School.

In April 2000, Private First Class Barrera reported to, MCAS Futenma where he served as a Military Policeman and Desk Sergeant.

In May 2001, Lance Corporal Barrera reported to MCLB Barstow, CA. where he served as a Military Policeman, Patrol Supervisor and Criminal Investigator. 

In June of 2003, Cpl Barrera graduated as Class Honor Graduate from his resident Corporals Course aboard Camp Pendleton, CA.

Also during his time aboard MCLB Barstow, he conducted his On the Job Training period within the Criminal Investigation Division and subsequently graduated Military Police Investigators Course in Fort Leonard Wood, MO in April 2004.  Follow on investigatory courses include; Child Abuse Prevention Intervention Training in Ft. Leonard Wood, August 2004; Domestic Violence Intervention Training in Ft. Leonard Wood, August 2004; Reid Interview and Interrogation course in Las Vegas, NV, April 2005 and Sex Crimes course at the University of Louisville in May 2005.

In October 2004, Sergeant Barrera attended and graduated from his resident Sergeants course aboard 29 Palms, CA.

Sergeant Barrera then reported to MCRD San Diego, CA for Recruiters School in January 2007.

In April 2007, Sergeant Barrera reported to the Recruiting Station Columbia, SC where he served as a Canvassing Recruiter in Augusta, GA and Station SNCOIC in Augusta, GA.  Sergeant Barrera was promoted to Staff Sergeant in October 2008 and was awarded Marine Corps Eastern Recruiting Region, Station of the Year in 2008.

Staff Sergeant Barrera then reported to MCB Camp Lejeune, NC in March 2010.  While at Camp Lejeune he completed one Combat tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2011.  He served as a Platoon Sergeant with the Provost Marshals Office as well as Company Gunnery Sergeant and Company 1stSgt with Security Company, HQ Service BN, MCB Camp Lejeune, NC.

In October 2013, Staff Sergeant Barrera reported to 3rd Law Enforcement BN, III MEF, where he served as the Platoon Sergeant, Company Gunnery Sergeant and Company 1stSgt with Bravo Company.  During this time he executed multiple Theater Security Cooperation exercises within the Area of Operations such as Cobra Gold in Thailand; Philippine Bilateral Exercise in Philippines; and the Korean Military exchange Program on the Korean Peninsula.

In October 2014 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. 

Gunnery Sergeant Barrera attended and graduated from his resident Advanced Course in January 2016. 

Gunnery Sergeant Barrera then reported to 2nd Law Enforcement BN, II MEF, in July 2016 where he served as Charlie Company Platoon Sergeant, Company Gunnery Sergeant and First Sergeant.  He then deployed as the Law Enforcement Detachment SNCOIC in support of the 26 Marine Expeditionary Unit in February 2018. 

On October 1st, 2018 he was promoted to his current rank of First Sergeant.

First Sergeant Barrera’s personal decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Second Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Second Award), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (Sixth Award).
