SERGEANT MAJOR KENDRIC J. BLAKE

Kendric J. Blake was born 13 February 1972 in Selma, Alabama. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 13 August 1990 and attended recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of recruit training Private Blake reported to Motor Transport School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina. After completing his MOS school he was assigned the MOS 3533 Motor Vehicle Operator and was promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

In March 1991 Private First Class Blake reported to 9th Motor Transport Bn, 3d FSSG, Okinawa, Japan where he served as a Motor Vehicle Operator and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In April of 1992, Lance Corporal Blake reported to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as the Motor Transport Licensing NCO.

In April 1993 Lance Corporal Blake reported to Camp Geiger, North Carolina where he was promoted to the rank of Corporal to serve as light vehicle section leader and later became heavy section leader. In March 1994 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

In June 1996 Sergeant Blake reported to Motor Transport School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina where he served as a Motor Transport Instructor. In August 1996, he was reassigned to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri during the relocation of the Motor Transport School and served as a Motor Transport Instructor and Class Commander.

In September 1998, Sergeant Blake reported to 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd FSSG, Okinawa, Japan where he served as Platoon Sergeant with Motor Transport Company. In April 1999, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In January 2000 Staff Sergeant Blake reported to Drill Instructor School at Parris Island, South Carolina. He was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Series Chief Drill Instructor. In July 2003, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

In August 2003, Gunnery Sergeant Blake reported to 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd FSSG, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Motor Transport Company. In February 2006, Gunnery Sergeant Blake deployed and served with Combat Logistics Battalion -7 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. In September 2006, Gunnery Sergeant Blake returned from OIF and served as the Company First Sergeant for Motor Transport Company, Combat Logistics Battalion - 4.

In July 2007, Gunnery Sergeant Blake was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and reported to 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was assigned as the First Sergeant of Military Police Company Headquarters Battalion. In March 2008, First Sergeant Blake deployed and served with 3rd Battalion 10th Marines in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. In October 2008, he returned and was reassigned to Communications Company Headquarters Battalion. In April 2009, he deployed and served with 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

In January 2011 First Sergeant Blake reported to Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Lejuene, North Carolina and was assigned as the First Sergeant of Personal Administration School.

In January 2013 First Sergeant Blake was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and reported to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton California where he served as the Battalion Sergeant Major. In July 2014, Sergeant Major Blake deployed and served as Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines Sergeant Major for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

In June 2015 Sergeant Major Blake reported to 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune North Carolina and was assigned as the Battalion Sergeant Major. In September 2017, Sergeant Major Blake deployed and served as Task Force 9.7 Sergeant Major in support of CJTF-OIR.

In August 2018 Sergeant Major Blake assumed his current assignment as Sergeant Major of Headquarters and Support Battalion, School of Infantry-East.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star.
