Gunnery Sergeant Mario Daraell Lute
Fort Jackson, SC

Gunnery Sergeant Mario Daraell Lute graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA in October of 1998.  After Recruit Training, Private First Class Lute attended Marine Combat Training and Postal School.

In February 1999, Private First Class Lute reported to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan where he served as a Military Postal Clerk.  During this time period he participated in Operation Southern Frontier.

In March 2000, Lance Corporal Lute reported to H&S BN MCRD San Diego, CA where he served as a Military Postal Clerk and NCOIC of the Military Post Office.

Corporal Lute reported to Recruiters School in September 2002.  Upon completion of Recruiters School he reported to Recruiting Station Indianapolis, Indianapolis, IN, where he served as a recruiter.

Sergeant Lute then reported to Camp Pendleton, CA in June of 2006. While at Camp Pendleton he completed a tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 13th MEU.  He served as the Postal Chief coordinating postal operations.

In June 2009, Staff Sergeant Lute reported to Joint Military Postal Activity-Pacific where he served as the Postal Supply and Operations Chief for postal support too Military Installations in the Pacific Theater.

Staff Sergeant Lute reported to Okinawa Japan in August of 2012, where he served as Mailroom Inspector, Custodian of Postal Effects and Postal Operations Chief.

On July 1, 2015, he was promoted to his current rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

In September of 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Lute reported to Inter-Service Postal Training Activity, Fort Jackson, SC where he currently serves as Chief Instructor.

Gunnery Sergeant Lute’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with a gold star.
