First Sergeant Brendan H. Chamburs

FIRST SERGEANT BRENDAN H. CHAMBURS

 

First Sergeant Chamburs was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and raised in Puyallup WA.  After graduating from John R. Rogers High School and Green River Community college First Sergeant Chamburs enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 1999 and underwent recruit training at 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Delta Company, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.

 

In October 2000, First Sergeant Chamburs completed Computer Maintenance Repairman School at Marine Corps Communication and Electronics School in 29 Palms, CA. He was ordered to 1st FSSG, H&S Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA. for duty.  On March 2nd 2001 he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal. While there he served in a variety of billets from Computer Technician to Computer Section Head. 

 

First Sergeant Chamburs was transferred to 3d FSSG, Electronics Maintenance Company, Okinawa Japan in August 2002, where he assumed duties as the Computer Section head. In January 2003 First Sergeant Chamburs was attached to MSSG 31 where he was assigned as the Communications Electronics Floor Chief.  In June 2003 First Sergeant Chamburs returned to Electronics Maintenance Company and held the billet of Platoon Sergeant.

 

In October 2003, First Sergeant Chamburs reported to Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, aboard Camp Pendleton, CA. He held billets included Platoon Sergeant, Maintenance Floor Chief, VTC Coordinator, and Ground Combat Element Node Chief.

 

In July 2006, First Sergeant Chamburs received orders to Recruiters School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. Upon completion of Recruiters School, he was assigned to 12th Marine Corps District, RS Seattle, RSS Olympia as a production Recruiter, assistant RSS SNCOIC, and served as the RSS SNCOIC of RSS Bellingham, WA.

 

In June 2009, First Sergeant Chamburs reported back to Marine Corps Communication and Electronics School. In June 2010 he graduated the Advanced Electronics, and Ground Data / Communications Maintenance Technician course.

 

First Sergeant Chamburs reported to 3dMLG, CLR-37, Communications Company in June 2010. While there he served as the Maintenance Floor Chief. In July 2011 he was given temporary assigned duty orders to CLR-3, CLB-4, Support Company, as the Company Gunnery Sergeant during Operation Enduring Freedom 12.1 in Helmand Province.  First Sergeant Chamburs returned from TAD in November 2012 as the Maintenance Management Chief for Communications Company.

 

In June 2013, First Sergeant Chamburs reported to 1st Radio Battalion, Camp Pendleton California.  While there he served as the Electronics Maintenance Shop Chief.  In August 2014, First Sergeant Chamburs became the H&S Company Gunnery Sergeant, a billet he filled until March 2015.  In March 2015 First Sergeant Chamburs returned to Electronics Maintenance Platoon as the Critical Low Density Section Chief.  First Sergeant Chamburs was selected and frocked to First Sergeant in March 2016.

 

In April 2016, First Sergeant Chamburs reported to School of Infantry – East, Infantry Training Battalion to assume the duties as the Company First Sergeant for Charlie Company.  In November 2016, First Sergeant Chamburs was transferred to H&S Battalion and assumed duties as the Company First Sergeant for H&S Company.

 

In January 2018, First Sergeant Chamburs assumed his current billet as the Director of Combat Instructor School.

 

His personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars.
