Major Joshua Rose

Major Joshua Rose reported to Officer Candidate School in January 2001. After completing Officer Candidate School, he was commissioned in April 2001. Upon completion of The Basic School, 2ndLt Rose attended Student Naval Aviator (SNA) training in Pensacola, Florida.  Following SNA training, 1stLt Rose attended the Naval Intelligence Officer Basic Course (NIOBC) at Dam Neck, VA. 

 

Upon completion of NIOBC in November 2003, he was assigned to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron-2 (MWHS-2), 2d Marine Air Wing G-2 as the Current Intelligence Officer.  During this time, 1stLt Rose deployed to Al Asad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005).  In October of 2005, Captain Rose was reassigned to Aerial Unmanned Squadron-2 (VMU-2), 2d Marine Air Wing to serve as the Intelligence Officer. During this time, Captain Rose deployed to Al-Taqaddum, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006).  Upon returning from his second deployment to Iraq, Captain Rose returned to MWHS-2 where he served as the Deputy A/CS G-2.

 

After completion of the MAGTF Intelligence Officers Course (MIOC) in Dam Neck, VA (2008) Captain Rose was designated an MAGTF Intelligence Officer and reassigned to Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) to serve as an Expeditionary Support Officer providing support to all east coast Marine Corps units.  During this time, Captain Rose deployed to  Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2010) as the MCIA liaison Officer to 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade.  Upon returning from Afghanistan, Captain Rose served as the MCIA Current Operations Officer.

 

In August 2011, Captain Rose was reassigned to 2d Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division to serve as the Intelligence Officer.  During this time Major Rose deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2012) as the II MEF (fwd) Intelligence liaison Officer to International Joint Command (IJC).  Shortly after returning from his second deployment to Afghanistan, Major Rose served as the 2d Marine Division G-4 assistant Operations Officer from 2014-2016.    

 

In June of 2016, Major Rose was reassigned to H&S Bn, MCI-EAST, MCB Camp Lejeune where he served as the Battalion Operations Officer.  In July of 2017, Major Rose was reassigned to serve as the Headquarters and Service Company Commander and Logistics Officer, MCCSSS where he presently serves.

 

Major Rose’s military and professional education includes a B.T. State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill (1998), Naval Aviation Flight Training (2003), Naval Intelligence Basic Course (NIOBC) (2003), MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course (MIOC) (2008), Non-Resident Expeditionary Warfare School (2009), Amphibious Warfare Indoctrination Course (2011), Operations and Tactics Instructor Course (2011) and Non-Resident Command and Staff College (2012-2014). His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars.
