Lieutenant Colonel Glen J. Reukema

LtCol Reukema was born in Montreal, Canada in January 1976.  He attended Arcadia High School in Los Angeles CA then attended California Polytechnic University Pomona.  In 2000, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering. Candidate Reukema attended PLC Combined in the summer of 1999 and was commissioned into the USMC June 1 2000.  Second Lieutenant Reukema attended The Basic School from November of 2000 to June of 2001.  After completion of The Basic School, he was assigned as a flight student and completed Primary and Helicopter training in Pensacola FL Graduating December 2002.  1stLt Reukema was assigned the MOS of 7566 CH-53E Pilot and executed FRS training at HMHT-302 New River NC.

 

In September of 2003, he reported to HMH-465 and served as the Airframes Officer, Scheduling Officer, Aviation Safety Officer and as Weapons and Tactics Instructor.  He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, 2005 and 2006.  Then he deployed in support of the the 31st MEU in 2008.  

 

In September of 2008, Captain Reukema reported to HMX-1 in Quantico VA for duty as a Presidential Support Pilot.  At HMX Captain Reukema supported over 60 presidential trips and was the co-pilot on 6 Presidential lifts and the Pilot in Command for 18 Vice Presidential lifts.  Captain Reukema served as the Aviation Safety Officer, Scheduling Officer, Alert Facility OIC and Avionics Officer / Functional Check Pilot.

 

In July of 2012, Major Reukema reported to Marine Aircraft Group 16 to serve as the Future Plans officer.  In February of 2013, Major Reukema was assigned to HMH-462 as the Maintenance Officer and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Upon his return to CONUS Major Reukema transferred to HMH-465 as the Operations Officer / Weapons and Tactics Instructor and deployed to Futenma Airbase, Okinawa Japan as part of UDP.

 

In July of 2015, Major Reukema attended the Marine Corps Command and Staff College where he earned a Master of Military Studies degree.  Upon completion of Command and Staff College in June of 2016; Major Reukema was frocked to his current rank and reported to Officer Candidates School where he serves as the Battalion Executive Officer.        

 

LtCol Reukema’s personnel awards include: Air Medal fourteen award, Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
