The purpose of this course is to develop basically trained Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV) repairer/technicians (2141 MOS), under supervision, to perform basic operation and mechanical duties of the AAV / Family of Vehicles (FOV). To include but not limited to visual inspections, basic diagnosis/troubleshooting, maintenance, recovery, and the repair of; suspension, hydraulic, electrical, power plant, transmission, engine and upgunned weapon system (UGWS).

In order to perform field level corrective maintenance functions, the student will be required to maintain, repair, operate and service the AAV/FOV, organizational tools and equipment and the Upgunned Weapons Station. Additionally, the students will employ the Assault Amphibious Vehicle Recovery 7 (AAVR7) and its unique equipment to conduct recovery operations.
Course Mission: The purpose of this course is to train students, under supervision, to perform basic operation and mechanical duties of the ACV FOV. To include but not limited to inspections, diagnosis, preventive and corrective maintenance of ACV suspension, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, powerpack, and Common Remotely Operated Weapon Systems (CROWS).
Scope: In order to perform field level corrective maintenance functions, the student will be required to operate, service, and repair the ACV FOV, maintain organizational tools and equipment, and adhere to maintenance management programs.

Basic Schedule:
1. Government messing and billeting is available for all students.
2. No dependents or privately owned vehicles (POV) are authorized while in entry level student status, unless in a Lateral Move and was approved by Course Chief
3. Students will report into this command wearing the Service Alpha Uniform.

(1) Must possess an MM score of 105 or higher.
(2) Must have a WS-B(+) swimmer qualification.
(3) Must have vision correctable to 20/20.
(4) Must meet Initial Strength Test standards associated with PEF assignments as listed in NAVMC
1200.1H (pg. xiv) prior to shipping to recruit training.
(5) Must meet MOS Classification Standards as listed in NAVMC 1200.1H (pg. xiv) prior to
graduating from recruit training.
(6) No more than one yes in the blocks contained in section 6 on the physical fitness inquiry for
motor vehicle operators form (OF-345) is acceptable.
