COMMANDING OFFICER'S EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY STATEMENT

At FMTB-West, all personnel will be treated with equal respect, dignity, and basic courtesy. Discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender and sexual orientation or national origin violates the essential core values of respect and dignity, and simply will not be tolerated.

I am personally committed to supporting a command climate that is free from discrimination, sexual harassment, or hazing in any form.  I expect all members of this command to do the same to create an atmosphere that fosters a positive, supportive, and harassment-free environment for all personnel.  Any Sailor, Marine or Civilian Marine of this unit that participates in, tolerates, or fails to report instances of discrimination, hazing, and/or sexual harassment will be held accountable.

All leaders will strive to resolve discrimination, hazing, and sexual harassment complaints at the lowest level using the Informal Resolution System.  Formal complaints can be made tour Command EO Representatives, the Training Command Equal Opportunity Advisor, or the Inspector General of the United States Marine Corps.  Reprisals, intimidation, or harassment related to the reporting of the complaint will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

It is important for all of us to recognize and appreciate the most valuable asset to our mission - each individual Sailor and Marine in the command.  Adhere to the Golden Rule of treating others as you would like to be treated and we will be successful at Field Medical Training Battalion-West.

Assistance is available via your chain of command or the FMTB-West Equal Opportunity Representative, Capt Koerner at (760) 725-3466 or via email at jasen.koerner@usmc.mil.
