FOR PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HER DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS FACILITIES CHIEF AT FIELD MEDICAL TRAINING BATTALION-EAST, CAMP LEJEUNE, NORTH CAROLINA FROM OCTOBER 2016 TO SEPTEMBER 2017. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER MEJIA WAS SELECTED AS SENIOR SERVICE MEMBER OF THE YEAR 2017.  PETTY OFFICER MEJIA'S EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP WAS INSTRUMENTAL AS SHE SUPERVISED 188 SAILORS IN STUDENTS AWAITING TRAINING/TRANSFER PLATOON (SAT/T), MANAGING THEIR DAY TO DAY TASKS, ENSURING THAT HER SAILORS WERE MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY PREPARED FOR THE NEXT CLASS OR THAT PROPER ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS WERE MET AND PROCESSED FOR A SUCCESFULL TRANSFER TO THE FLEET.  AS THE FACILITIES CHIEF SHE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING AND TRACKING 221 WORK ORDERS FOR 11 BUILDINGS, AND 3 TRAINING AREAS VALUED AT $26 MILLION DOLLARS.  AS ASSISTANT COMMAND FITNESS LEADER, SHE LED 124 PHYSICAL TRAININGS, AND 34 FITNESS ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM SESSIONS WITHIN HER SECTION, AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE COMMAND OBTAINING A 98% PASS RATE. PETTY OFFICER MEJIA'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSERVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
