Gunnery Sergeant Miller entered recruit training in August 2002 with 2nd Recruit Training Battalion at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA. In January, 2003, Private First Class Miller graduated from the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, CA. After combat training he attended The Postal Operations Course at Fort Jackson, SC, where he received the Military Occupation Specialty 0161, Postal Clerk. He reported to his first duty station at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico, VA, in March 2003.
In February, 2004, Lance Corporal Miller, reported to US CENTCOM for deployment in support of The Global War on Terrorism with the Coalition Military Assistance Training Team. He served as interior guard, mail clerk, and QRF during this duty. Upon completion of his deployment he returned to MCB Quantico where he was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

In January, 2005, Corporal Miller reported for duty to 3rd Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan. During this period he served as the Custodian of Postal Effects for the Camp Schwab Military Post Office.

In January, 2006, Corporal Miller reported for duty to NAVSUP, Fleet Mail Center, Yokohama, Japan. During this period he served as the shift NCO and dispatch NCO for the Fleet Mail Center. During this period he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Miller, reported to Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), MCB Quantico, in April, 2007. During this time he served as the Marine and Family Programs, Postal Affairs, NCOIC. As the NCOIC he oversaw the rollout of the Marine Corps’ MotoMail program in support of deployed Marines aboard ship and in OIF/OEF.
In July, 2010, Sergeant Miller reported for duty to 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan. During this tour he was promoted to Staff Sergeant. During this period Staff Sergeant Miller served as Custodian of Postal Effects for the Camp Courtney Post Office. He also served as the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Chief at Camp Kinser.
In August, 2013, Staff Sergeant Miller, reported Headquarters and Service Battalion, MCB Quantico for duty. During this period he served as the Postal Inspector for MCB Quantico and the National Capital region.

In August, 2014, Staff Sergeant Miller, reported to Marine Barracks Washington (MBW) 8th and I, Marine Corps Institute (MCI). Staff Sergeant Miller served as the Postal Chief for MBW. During this period Staff Sergeant Miller also served to support MBW missions, parades, and ceremonies. He also served in the process of closing down MCI.
In April, 2015, Staff Sergeant Miller, reported as the Postal Chief for MCB Quantico. During this period he assumed the roles of postal inspector and postal chief for Marine Corps National Capital Region.

In August, 2016, Staff Sergeant Miller, took over duties as the Postal Administration Chief, for Marine and Family Programs, Postal Affairs with M&RA. During this period he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

In December, 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Miller reported as Instructor to the U.S. Army Adjutant General School, Inter-Service Postal Training Activity, Fort Jackson, SC.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Second Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Third Award), and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
